Building the Compassion Infrastructure for Cities.
Our Story
Anchor New York began as a simple idea — that in every city, compassion can be organized.
What started as an informal network of neighbors helping those without shelter has evolved into a social enterprise dedicated to restoring stability, dignity, and hope for people facing homelessness, poverty, or isolation.
We believe every person deserves access to shelter, healthcare, financial empowerment, employment opportunities, and community reintegration — the five essential elements of urban compassion.
Our mission is to weave these supports together into one coordinated ecosystem that connects people, partners, and purpose.
Our vision
To build the compassion infrastructure of modern cities — where no one sleeps without dignity, safety, or belonging.
Our mission
To connect people, spaces, and opportunities through a unified platform that delivers housing, healthcare, livelihood, and reintegration support with dignity and transparency.
Our Core Values:
- Dignity First: Every person deserves to be treated with respect.
- Transparency: Open data, visible impact.
- Inclusivity: Welcoming volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries from all backgrounds.
- Collaboration: We work with — not apart from — communities.
- Sustainability: Building systems that regenerate compassion and funding.

Our Model
Anchor New York operates as a social enterprise, combining nonprofit service with data-driven accountability.
Through our Anchor Connect digital platform, donors, partners, and volunteers can directly track impact — from meals served and jobs placed to microloans repaid and housing transitions completed.
Our approach blends:
- Community empowerment (volunteers & local leadership)
- Cross-sector collaboration (faith groups, hospitals, CSR partners)
- Revolving sustainability (funding that reinvests impact into future growth)
Our Approach to Impact
We measure social return not only in numbers but in stories — every placement, every recovery, every restored sense of belonging.
Our Social Return on Investment (SROI) model shows that every USD 1 contributed creates approximately USD 4 in measurable social value, from healthcare savings to income stabilization and housing retention.
Our Partners
We work alongside:
- Faith-based communities opening their doors as micro-shelters.
- Hospitals & mental health clinics providing essential medical care.
- Corporates & CSR teams funding microfinance and training programs.
- Government & NGOs sharing data and policy collaboration.
Our Future
By 2028, Anchor New York aims to:
- Operate 10 community shelters across the five boroughs
- Deliver 15,000 free medical consultations
- Support 5,000 job placements
- Issue $1 million in revolving microfinance loans
- Build a volunteer network of 10,000 New Yorkers
